UX + Software Design

Much of my work with JLR is ongoing and confidential, but here is a high-level summary:

Design Operations

  • Co-led and defined global DesignOps strategy to integrate and unify tools, methods, and processes in support of the business's transition toward agile development
  • Established a central source of truth for designers, developers, and stakeholders to reduce duplication of work, improve consistency, and iterate faster
  • Created and maintained multiple style and component libraries, with an emphasis on scalability and content-agnostic modularity for maximal flexibility
  • Explored end-to-end automation of HMI interaction and visual component specs to accelerate product development cycles, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
  • Facilitated biweekly knowledge-sharing sessions across geos to onboard and train colleagues
  • Developed initial framework of component library governance system to ensure standards and practices compliance

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) HMI

  • Defined and delivered human-machine interaction (HMI) requirements for camera and vision features to improve situational awareness for a safer and better experience when maneuvering at low speeds
  • Contributed to design and rollout of Remote Park Assist mobile app, increasing vehicle capability to perform parking maneuvers from outside of the vehicle using a paired personal device
  • Led collaborative design iterations that produced component- and system-level requirements
  • Engaged in cross-geo collaboration with teams in China, UK, and US to explore and define preliminary HMI requirements for Level 4 automated driving

In-Vehicle Infotainment HMI

  • Distilled complex engineering requirements into usable, tested designs for infotainment software products
  • Generated detailed HMI specifications and wireframes for vendor implementation
  • Developed and tested high-fidelity interactive prototypes as proofs of concept
  • Led the translation of engineering requirements into functional UI designs

Customer Quality Strategy

  • Analyzed thousands of reports of Things Gone Wrong (TGW) to identify opportunities to improve in-vehicle HMI quality related to Level 2+ ADAS features
